Linnea Jonsson
The trumpeter, who is described as Sweden's new star in jazz, is one of the artists visiting Södra Latin's Jazz Festival.
Often described as a shooting star on the Swedish Jazz scene Linnea Jonsson has gained several major grants such as J:son Grant, Jazzaspen and teh STIM-scholarship. Recently released album Fragments of Spring portrays a billowing, melodic landscape that breathes Scandinavian jazz. Besides her own Linnea Jonsson Group and a duo together with pianist Niklas Bergström, Linnea has played with Nisse Sandström, Lina Nyberg, Magnus Lindgren and Mares and with big bands like New Places Orchestra, Fredrik Nordström Big Band, Bohuslän Big Band, Gothenburg Art Ensemble and Tengholm Ullberg Big Band.
