Sissoko / Segal / Peirani / Parisien

With kora, cello, accordion and saxophone, this star quartet make up their own poetic universe of jazz and traditional, classical and avant-garde.

The Malian kora player Ballaké Sissoko and the French cellist Vincent Segal are long-standing partners having worked on several exciting projects together.
Saxophonist Émile Parisien and accordionist Vincent Peirani have a similar history together, both in duos and in larger ensembles. All four are gifted with a dialogic musicality that leads to the most unexpected musical conversations.
The debut album Les Egarés is a tumbleweed, a poetic haven for the quartet’s way of cross-fertilizing and transcending genres. Jazz, griot tradition, tango, cumbia and rhythms from the Iberian peninsula are welded together with the quartet’s own magical ingredient.
Now this world-quartet is coming to Stockholm Jazz Festival and Konserthuset’s Grünewaldsal, and the tickets will go like butter in the desert sun.
