William Nilsson Trio
Swedish up-and-coming jazz guitar star, with highly creative and swinging trio.
William ”PW” Nilsson grew up in Uppsala but nowadays live in Stockholm where he has quickly made a name for himself as one of the most talented, young jazz musicians in the city. William has a mature and virtuosic style, with roots in blues and bebop, inspired by guitarists such as George Benson, Pat Martino and Wes Montgomery.
In 2024, he received the Albin Hagström Foundation’s large scholarship (which is usually awarded to significantly older and more weathered guitarists!) with the motivation:
”…with a mature playing, a brilliant technique and strikingly fine timing, he navigates unhindered in the most difficult chord progressions with improvisations that show both genre knowledge and idiosyncrasy.”.
