Iréne Lundberg Quartet med Klas Toresson
A vocal jazz quartet shares the stage with one of Sweden's leading tenor saxophonists Klas Toresson.
The Stockholm-based group plays jazz with attentive ears and deep love for their music. All of the members skilled improvisers, part of the focus is to let improvisation and playfulness enhance the music. The audience is offered a great variety of dynamics, from a low-key duet with bass and vocals to a maximum turn with blues tones.
Iréne Lundberg has a broad musical background, including roots in the Swedish folk music scene. Her expression has influences rather from the early jazz vocalists than today’s. She is appreciated for her soft voice, her scat and her heartfelt way to interpret lyrics.
Klas Toresson is one of the most well-known names on the Swedish jazz scene, with many successful musical collaborations and three albums under his own name. His playing is characterized by a warm and melodic feeling that makes the music go straight into the listener’s heart.
Look forward to a musical meeting at a high level!
