The Organ Hangout
The Organ Hangout invites you to a magnificent groove party!
Leo Lindberg – Organ
The young pianist Leo Lindberg has already played with many of Sweden’s greatest jazz profiles, such as Bernt Rosengren, Amanda Sedgwick and Nisse Sandström. He has also been awarded several prizes, including the Louis Armstrong and Monica Zetterlund scholarships.
Leo Lindberg was born in August 1993 and became interested in music early on. Not least thanks to two very musical parents, bassist Owe and harpist Berit. With their support and Leo’s natural curiosity about his musical environment, he came to show great talents very early on.
Despite his young years, Leo has played with most of Sweden’s elite musicians and made acclaimed tours both in Sweden and abroad. Among many examples can be mentioned the saxophonists Bernt Rosengren, Nisse Sandström. Amanda Sedgwick and Canadian Grant Stewart.
Max Schultz – Guitar
Jazz guitarist Max Schultz plays and composes music in the jazz, blues and pop genres. He started playing the guitar at the age of 10 after seeing a concert with Jimi Hendrix in Stockholm and toured in 1979 with the band Rena vätskor in Stockholm who also participated in a film by SVT. Max Schultz then became involved in the group Mynta where he developed as a jazz guitarist for seven years and also came into contact with Indian musical influences. Mynta toured both in Scandinavia and at international arenas such as the Montreaux Jazz Festival as well as in Singapore, Bombay, Cuba and Nicaragua.
In 1993, Max Schultz won Rikskonserter’s and Caprice’s Jazz in Sweden award and recorded his own album with Joakim Milder (sax), Christian Spering (bass), and Magnus Grahn (drums) – a constellation that was later named Max Schultz’s band. Max Schultz has collaborated with other jazz musicians and artists such as Håkan Broström, Herbie Hancock, Bob Moses, Nils Landgren, and Esbjörn Svensson, Svante Thuresson, Anna Nederdahl and Tommy Körberg. Max Schultz has also worked as a studio musician on recordings with Marie Fredriksson, Rebecka Törnqvist and other artists.
Chris Montgomery – Drums
Chris Montgomery has played with artists and musicians such as Palle Danielsson, Bobo Stenson, Monica Dominique, Barbara Hendricks and Rigmor Gustafsson and others. Has released the album ”If not for you” under his own name with the group Our Park (Fabian Kallerdahl and Victor Furbacken).
