Sara Möller med band
Sara Möller is an artist within a cross-border genre of jazz, blues, folk and chanson where affinities with artists such as CW Stoneking, Tom Waits and Lhasa de Sela can be heard.
The music moves from cabaret and circus atmosphere to the fragile and intimate. The songs are always carried by a story, whether it is on an inner or outer plane.
Sara Möller released her third album, ’How and How’ in the fall of 2023, produced by Mikael Augustsson, who also contributes as multiintrumentalist on the record. The album was called ”a masterpiece” by Swedish music magazine Lira, and New York-based magazine The Big Takeover wrote: ”These tunes rise from a harmonic haze of jazz intricacies and bluesy rhythms, delicate folk nuances, and the rich tapestry of chanson traditions. It’s a reinvention of roots music, a nod to past glories, and depending on how Sara tweaks her sonic palette, the results swing from gentle understatement to rowdy, rough-edged anthems…we’re
treated to the Kurt Weill-esque swagger of the title track, a seamless blend of sonic
nostalgia and avant-garde experimentations… it’s no wonder that she’s earned a
permanent slot on this writer’s playlist from here on out.”
