Lilla Akademien proudly presents the renowned Brazilian bassist Rubem Farias, a virtuoso multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, music producer, teacher, and entrepreneur. Born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, and residing in Stockholm, Sweden, since 2015, Rubem Farias is celebrated as one of today’s finest bassists. His impressive collaborations include performances with jazz legends such as Ulf Wakenius, Mike Stern, Randy Brecker, Robben Ford, Nils Landgren, Magnus Lindgren, and the Bohuslän Big Band, among others.
Rubem’s artistic achievements extend beyond performance; he is actively involved in creating innovative projects, international tours, and jazz festivals. He serves as the musical director for Brazilian Day and had the distinguished honor of performing at the Nobel Prize ceremony in 2023. His recent albums, ”Rubem Farias Big Band in Brazil” and ”Rubem Farias Quinteto” showcase his exceptional talent and versatility.
