Lamine Cissokho
Lamino Cissokho, the legendary kora player from Senegal invites us to a night of jazz.
Lamine Cissokho is a legendary kora player from Senegal who has been active on Swedish and European music scenes for many years. He has performed venues such as Marciac Jazz Festival, Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Jazz Cour et Jardin France, to name a few.
Lamine builds on his rich musical heritage from generations back in Senegal, but in the true spirit of world music he often allows himself excursions into jazz. He treats his 22-stringed instrument not only with technical finesse but also with great sensitivity, creating music that is deeply moving.
He collaborates with big names in the world of jazz and blues such as the French pianist Olivier Hutman and the Swedish-American Eric Bibb.
Lamine Cissokho invites you to a solo concert during Stockholm Jazz Festival.
His concerts are based on a close, emotional and humorous contact with the audience. The mixture of traditional songs from Senegal, singing and jazzy elements. An exciting afro-jazz and a modern way of using the ancient instrument makes Lamine’s concerts a unique experience.
