Evita Polidoro – Nerovivo

The Italian drummer Evita Polidoro and the project Nerovivo are an eclectic trio, equally at home in the worlds of jazz, rock and pop.

Nerovivo is a set of ideas born from the creativity of drummer and singer Evita Polidoro. The meeting with guitarists Nicolò Faraglia and Davide Strangio gave birth to the ideal sound, the right combination of silence and music. Listening and experimenting are the basis of the trio’s work. This unusual line-up is committed to sound and compositional research. Their unique sound moves between post-rock, ambient electronics and experimental jazz, and they are not afraid to explore new musical possibilities.

Their debut album as a group consists of eight tracks that pay homage to artists ranging from the Italian group Quintorigo, the Danish Jakob Bro and Aphex Twin to Debussy, and even the TV series Black Mirror has a song dedicated to it. On the contrary, the two vocal tracks are more personal, like mantras for Evita’s mental health, where she explores loneliness and fear.

The Italian Cultural Institute in Stockholm has hosted many young Italian jazz talents in recent years, and the Stockholm Jazz Festival will be no exception! The evening will feature a double concert with Evita Polidoro/Nerovivo and Jacopo Ferrazza. The artists are supported by Nuova Generazione Jazz, a project of the I-Jazz Association, which aims to promote the new talents of the Italian jazz scene on a national and international level.
