Elis Mejhammar Jazz Gathering

This Trio, with members from different parts of the country, performs their own compositions in the pleasant locale of Biocafé Tellus in Midsommarkransen. There is often something interesting to be found in groups where members are allowed to their own approach and perspective, and the work process in Jazz Gathering revolves around enabling this kind of creative Environment – both in regard to improvisation and composition. The music of the Jazz Gathering is Contemporary jazz in both duo and trio format, with compositions that strive to find new ground in our time’s jazz scene.

Elis Mejhammar was born in Stockholm but grew up in Norrköping. He has a bachelor’s degree in Contemporary Classical composition from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, and is currently doing jazz studies at Fridhems Folkhögskola. Irma Malmros Pohland was born in Åkarp and is currently doing a Jazz Bachelor’s at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Vallentin Lövström-Wadell was born in Stockholm and is currently enrolled at Fridhems Folkhögskola’s jazz department.
