Lönnkrogen
Century-old dance jazz.
The year was 1919 and the ”Association of Christian Women for Temperance” and others succeeded in enforcing the so-called ”Volstead Act” in the United States. This law and the Eighteenth Amendment meant a total ban on intoxicating drinks in all its forms. A reaction to this was the so-called maple taverns (speak eases) that popped up all over the United States. There you could enjoy bootleg liquor and the devil’s music, i.e. jazz, without being disturbed by the guardians of the law.
Come, drink, listen, play… or do whatever you please!
