Panel: Jazz, makt och ett jämställt musikliv
IMPRA and the Goethe-Institut invite you to a conversation on inclusion in a changing cultural landscape
What happens to inclusion efforts in a cultural landscape where public resources are being reduced? In this panel discussion, IMPRA and the Goethe-Institut bring together musicians, organizers and cultural workers from Sweden and Germany to discuss responsibility, representation, equality and gender equity within the jazz and improvisation scene – with a focus on active inclusion work in light of today’s societal challenges and cultural policy conditions.
Among the guests is Maika Küster – a musician, composer and arranger based in the Rhein-Ruhr region of Germany. As one of the founders of the PENG jazz collective, winner of the 2025 Deutsche Jazzpreis in the Festival of the Year category, she has long been engaged in promoting inclusion in the German jazz scene.
The conversation is open to anyone interested in inclusion within the Swedish and German jazz and improvisation scenes.
