Nils Janson/Hans Olding Quartet
Contemporary, hard swinging and melodic jazz with broad influences from seasoned trumpeter Nils Janson and guitarist Hans Olding.
Nils Janson has been playing for many years with the Stockholm Jazz Orchestra, Radiojazzgruppen, Klas Lindquist nonet etc. as well as behind established Swedish artists such as Danny Saucedo, Tomas Rusiak, Mando Diao etc. He has released five albums under his own name and is undoubtedly one of the country’s most sought-after trumpeters.
Hans Olding is one of Sweden’s most active jazz guitarists/composers and has toured the world over the past 20+ years and played with a wide range of Swedish and international musicians. He runs several projects of an international nature with musicians from all over the Nordic countries, France, Italy etc. and has recorded several albums under his own name as leader/co-leader.
Nils and Hans have played together for over 20 years and in addition to this quartet together also run the octet Stockholm Jazz Underground. They have played at festivals, toured together in several countries and made recordings for Swedish Radio together. The music is rooted in a contemporary acoustic and melodic sound with deep roots in the jazz tradition.
