New Fashioned 4
Early jazz with a new feel – a meeting between tradition and modern interpretation. With clarinet, guitar, double bass and piano, the band creates a warm and lively sound that brings the roots of jazz into the present.
New Fashioned 4 interprets jazz from the 20s and 30s with respect for the originals, but without getting stuck in the predictable. The repertoire consists of classic standards and lesser-known gems, performed in the band’s own style – where tradition meets innovation.
The quartet consists of Melker Edenroth (guitar), Lukas Hultman (piano), Martin Lundin (double bass) and Hannibal Jarrah (clarinet). The drumless arrangement gives the music an open, airy swing where each instrument can come into its own. Without the weight of the rhythm section, the interaction becomes intimate, acoustic and alive.
Come to the Foyer of the Scala Theatre to hear this Quartet play during one of the days of the jazz festival.
