Legrand Amour med gäst Sara Fischer
A journey through sounds and emotions - to Paris and the magical musical world of Michel Legrand.
Join us on a journey back to post-war Paris – a time of revival, romance and great emotion.
In this intimate concert, we celebrate the unforgettable music of Michel Legrand, known from classics such as The Umbrellas of Cherbourg.
The music is performed with closeness and emotion, where Legrand’s melodies and expressions are in focus.
Le Grand Amour is a newly formed trio, and on this evening they are delighted to be joined by vocalist Sara Fischer.
Sara Fischer is a celebrated and seasoned jazz singer, known for her strong stage presence and unique expression. She has collaborated with many prominent musicians on the Swedish jazz scene, including Lars Sjösten, Ronnie Gardiner, and others.
The trio features pianist and composer Peter Knudsen, whose musical language moves fluidly between jazz, classical music, and Brazilian influences. He is known from the quartet Derupeto and the octet Peter Knudsen Eight. Peter also has a deep love for French composers, which is evident on his albums Reimaginations and the trio release Impressions – A Tribute to Debussy and Ravel.
Saxophonist Catharina Wiborgh plays in several groups, including Bag Ladies, Brazilian Love Affair, and the Olle Eilestam Quartet with Ronnie Gardiner. She has also collaborated with Spanish musicians and can be heard on the duo album Tête à Tête with Catalan pianist Dani Rambla.
Double bassist Thomas Dawidowski has long been a steady presence in the lower musical frequencies, active across many genres. In recent years, he has mainly performed with ensembles such as Bengt Ernryd’s sextet, Brazilian Love Affair, and Jonatan Fast. He has also collaborated with artists like Ane Brun, Den Flygande Bokrullen, and OK Star Orchestra.
