Konsertburkar

Lisa & Thomas have found some discarded cans in the forest and are taking care of them. Suddenly they discover that there is music in the cans!

With instruments such as saxophone, bass clarinet, vocals and piano, Lisa & Thomas take the audience on a journey of discovery into the magical world of Concert Cans. The music was awarded a Grammy in March 2025!

During the concert, the various concert cans are opened with the children’s help. An old glass bottle becomes an instrument when Thomas breathes life into it, and Lisa sings a melancholic blues about a whole potato that someone has thrown away. Why is food thrown away? Can we use discarded items in a new way? Creating awareness about recycling and the environment in a simple way is a common thread in the performance.

Lisa Östergren has been the bandleader of the multiple Grammy-nominated children’s jazz group Familjen Svängsson for over 20 years. In addition, she has been one of the members of the acappella group The Real Group. Thomas Backman has worked with artists across a wide spectrum – everything from Georg Riedel to Miss Li. Thomas released his third solo album: ”Nothing” in 2025. The predecessor ”When Light Is Put Away” was awarded the Manifest Prize for Jazz of the Year 2022.

Lisa and Thomas’s genre breadth is evident in their performance as the children are introduced to jazz as well as ballads and disco. In April 2024, the album ”Konsertburkar” was released. At the Grammy Awards in March 2025, the album was awarded Best Children’s Album 2024!
