Johan Grim Band
An evening inspired by singer-songwriters like Dylan and Neil Yong as well as rock, blues and funk.
Johan Grim is a versatile guitarist who, after his studies at the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles and the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, has been a frequently hired guitarist on Stockholm’s stages. For over 25 years, Johan and bassist Rickard Malmsten have made music together in many different projects and settings. The quartet also includes Jens Nilsson on saxophone and Tuomas Ojala on drums. The music performed at Stockholm Jazzfestival comes mainly from their latest album ”Pacific”, which was recorded earlier this year, as well as material from the band’s previous album ”Dedications” from 2021.
