Jesse and his swinging musicians take this tradition seriously – with respect, passion and a touch of cheek. This is not about pastiche or nostalgic reconstruction, but about highly alive music performed by musicians who master the style from the inside – both technically and emotionally.

The band naturally moves in the musical landscape where blues, Caribbean rhythms, gospel, hot jazz and swing coexist with humor, joy of playing and a good portion of audience dialogue. Similar to role models such as Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller and Duke Ellington who lived with and shaped the music during “The Jazz Age”.

Early jazz requires special prior knowledge – and a common tone – Jesse has been lucky enough to be able to gather a group who not only understand the code language but also speak it fluently. The result is something as rare as sophisticated, swinging jazz with integrity and heart.
