Ikiz på Södra Latins Jazzfestival

Robert Mehmet Ikiz is an internationally active drummer, composer, and producer who moves effortlessly between jazz, funk, soul, and world music. He has toured in 59 countries and appears on over 100 albums, both as a core member and sought-after sideman.

Ikiz is a permanent member of several bands, spanning genres from jazz to rock – including Nils Landgren Funk Unit, Magnus Lindgren Jazz by 4, Dan Reed Band, Petter Bergander Trio, Lahza, Ikiz Cabin Crew, Jacob Karlzon, Bloom & Ikiz, and more.

He has received the Swedish Radio P2 Jazzkatten award for Group of the Year (2015) and Musician of the Year (2017) – Sweden’s most prestigious jazz honors, presented by Sveriges Radio P2.peter.falthin@edu.stockholm.se
