Elis Mejhammar Jazz Gathering

This trio performs own compositions in the pleasant locale of Biocafé Tellus in Midsommarkransen. Jazz Gathering places emphasis on members individual creative approaches and perspectives, and the group’s work process revolves around enabling this kind of Environment – both in regard to composition and improvisation. The music of Jazz Gathering is contemporary jazz in duo and trio format, with compositions that strive to find new ground on the jazz scene. Elis Mejhammar (bass) was born in Stockholm and grew up in Norrköping. He has a bachelor’s degree in contemporary classical composition from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Irma Malmros Pohland (drums) was born in Åkarp and is currently doing a Jazz Bachelor’s at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Johannas Annfält (piano) from Katrineholm has a completed a bachelor’s degree in jazz piano at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.
