DUALITY + Liam Elion

Two acts: DUALITY, combining jazzy feelings in different nordic languages, and Liam Elion, celebrating Don Cherry's legendary 1965 album "Cherry Jam".

Liam Elion Cherry Jam Ft. Pelle Westlin: In October 1965 Don Cherry recorded “Cherry Jam” in Copenhagen. This album documented
a turning point in the trumpeter’s career from working mostly as a sideman in Ornette
Coleman’s band to leading his own groups and eventually moving to Tågarp in Skåne. Sixty
years later Don’s music is still in our hearts, and we’re going to celebrate his legacy by
playing compositions written and inspired by him.

DUALITY: ’DUALITY’ represents the nordic languages the band emanates from when interpreting traditional melodies in unexpected and creative ways. They are inspired by the nordic landscapes, and they let damp forests live in symbiosis with cold mountain walls and extreme weather. All this in the form of improvisations and renderings of text. The band mirrors the dualities of life, also in original material inspired by jazz, pop and raw guitar riffs.
