Bill Laurance & Michael League
Snarky Puppy stars in a stripped-back duo concert with piano and oud at the centre
Bill Laurance and Michael League have been friends since their student days and have shared the stage in Snarky Puppy for over a decade. In this duo, they step into a more minimal, reflective space. One where curiosity leads and each note is given room to breathe. The music feels personal, spontaneous, and full of quiet discoveries.
Their sound is sparse yet rich in detail, atmospheric, melodic, and full of space. Laurance shifts between grand piano and subtle electronics, while League plays a fretless oud that moves like a voice or brushstroke across the music. “It’s a canvas on which you can paint a lot of things,” says Laurance. The result is a warm and quietly expressive concert, celebrating the deep joy of making music with a friend.
“For us to take a common project and drive it forwards together is an affirmation of who we are,” Laurance continues. Keeping Company is a celebration of friendship, shared humour, and the joy of catching sound like a series of Polaroids, fleeting, intimate, and full of life.
