An orchestra formed at Astrid Lindgren’s World in the heart of Småland. Their repertoire features Swedish smash hits from the first half of the 20th century along with songs connected to Astrid’s beloved stories!
With a strong focus on singing, swinging and languid tonality, Astrid Lindgren’s Fiddlers’ Group hopes to get even the stiffest of hips to start swinging. Bring Compeed chafing plasters and the Swedish Defence Forces’ skin ointment, it will certainly be needed. We will also provide buckets and rehydration in case of possible swing-induced seasickness (for which we cannot be held responsible). Take the opportunity to be well prepared by taking a folk dance course beforehand. For the poor, we recommend YouTube:ing ”how to swing your furry friend” or ”best ways to impress with your schottis and waltz”. Invite a friend, a colleague, or why not – someone you are secretly in love with. We can probably stick out our chin and guarantee an unforgettable evening.
